I'm sure I'm not the only one Dom emailed with the news his 5.0 is up and running! It has the new MBE with knock control! It's being tested in Europe so more news should be available in the near future. The new MBE can only be a good thing, Just hope they get the price lower than Syvecs so more people can have the re-assurance of anti-knock protection and see the real benefits these modern ECU's have over standard.

Looking forward to seeing this monsters torque curve smile

Yup, got a mail from him too...

Don't know if the new MBE has the capability of running sequential injection, like the Syvecs...

Don't worry Don, it's not for sale and won't be apparently. Just a proving (and marketing/PR) exercise for the Speed6 and TVR Power. It no doubt will produce good numbers and be reliable, but just not an offering to the general public. frown

Interesting.....especially thes MBE ECU. I wonder just how plug and play it is and what extra power it can liberate?

Definately not going to be sold for road cars according to Dom, strictly race car applications only. The new MBE ecu's though, once tested, might be available as upgrades to the general public.

As opposed to the other car which didn't actually get bought wink

5L is an impressive result. I'm guessing that as there is so little metal between the bores that it was achieved by stroking?

I bet it has a real thump of torque.

The MBE system sounds interesting as well. I think having seen what a smart system like the Syvecs can extract from these engines the new MBE is likely to be an excellent option.

I think it has an extra 1mm diameter bore, with interlocking tophat liners, and then a bit of a stroke biggrin

First run :- 385 ftlbs torque @ 4250 rpm (basic map) more to come I guess.
