4.3 cam options?
Discussion
Without opening a huge can of worms...has anyone with a 4.3 rebuild fitted anything except the "standard" cams that come with the conversion?
I've given the go ahead for a 4.3 rebuild on the Tuscan but am keen to retain the revy/manic nature of the engine.
I know that these rebuilds normally have more torque and more power than the 4.0, but is it feasible to gain even more power at the expense of some of this torque gain, or are the heads the limiting factor?
I suppose it could be a more general question in that can a change in the cam profile provide higher power if it doesn't actually open the valves any further?

Hi
I have a standard 4.3 in my tuscan with a lighter fly wheel. Im afraid im not in a position to be able to answer your question but i can tell you that the power increase you get is incredible. Im a huge petrol head and have always "tweaked" my cars and bikes and am a bit obsessed with going faster but i actualy think that anymore power would be to much ( for the road anyway )What ever you end up doing your going to love it!
