Thermostat and Sealer?

Does anyone know if the Speed 6 thermostat is used in any other cars (mainstream) and if so which ones? Also I noticed my themostat housing has a sealant instead of a gasket to stop it leaking... what type of sealant do I need to use just an RVT sealant?

Not sure what car the thermostat is from but the sealant is just a silicone sealant, same as used on the cam cover/plug cover ect..

I just got a std one from race tech but I used a gasket, I don't like to use sealant. Thinking about it the one I have is the optional cooler running one.
