When i built my LS Tuscan, i looked at the options for the oil tank, after more than one engine builder told me the Tuscan tank could,nt possibly get all the air out the oil
in the end i went for a Patterson tank,
but could,nt help wondering if this could be part of the S6 problems

I really hope someone more knowledgeable than i will be along soon to offer further suggestion to this post as i am intrigued that the oil tank may also be a concern on the speed 6 and not only the oil galley ways in the head.

Hurry someone please.

Never cut one up but it wouldn't win any prizes for the best design. I think it would be marginal, the oil would be still aerated and there isn't much of a baffle to help, there is no doubt that any improvement in returning good oil back to the engine would be very advantageous, every little helps. Best thing to do would be to set up a video and replace that missing section with a perspex window to see what is going on inside ( if you could see anything), as it stands it is just a holding tank and not helping much.

But that is the wrong shape smile

I would like to know whats wrong with it too. As far as I am aware none of the engine builders like Power, Str8Six, Racing Green etc advise changing the oil tank after a re-build or as a preventative measure even when they are carrying the warranty risk.

My thoughts too. Is it more a case of not being the perfect solution rather than a significant risk?
