Hi guys,

Picked up my first TVR & first Cerb Sat morning. In true Cerb style she's already in the indie garage! A few niggles here& there to sort out but the main one is while checking her over they've picked up on a missfire. They've done a compression test which came out fine, but they didn't give figures.Next is plugs & leads. If it turns out not to be those either, can you tell me what's next & will I be heading down the road of silly money?Being mechanically challenged to say the least,I won't be doing it myself.

Many thanks.

Dave. P.s. first lesson I learned was not to open the bonnet too far...or you hear a nasty crack & need your bonnet hinge pin re glassed!

Which Indy is she in? They should be able to troubleshoot.

There is a big list of stuff that can cause misfire. Most common seem to be pulgs / leads, but then there is the coil pack, lamda's, injectors, throttle pots, worn throttle bodies plus a few more.

A good indy will work through the list...let us know what he comes back with, nothing should be bank breaking. Most expensive thing on the list will be if the throttle bodies are worn - think they will be about £500 fitted.

Hope that helps,

welcome to the silly grin club biggrin and congratulations...oh and im assuming even though you posted 3 times you havent got 3 misfires eekwink

Could be the valve clearances as well. I had an exhaust valve close up a while ago and it felt like a plug or lead issue as it ran ok cold and then missed a bit on part throttle when warm.

Rob,
Thanks for.the welcome, she's gone to Central TVR.Pleasing to know it might not be as expensive I thought, fingers crossed.I posted originally on the Cerbera forum, and got advised to post on here as well, but for some reason my phone seems to enjoy posting things twice. :bandhead:
