In my Tuscan S MKII 2005 the fans kick in too early.
Dash water temp. shows around 4C more then ECU temp. in the TVR Diag program.

Rad Fan 1 kicks in at 88C ECU water temp. and Rad Fan 2 at 90C.

I think this is way too early???

What could cause this problem? ECU?

I wouldn't worry too much as long as the fans come in. I don't know what the factory settings are on the MkII but it could just be a different water temp setting or different values from the sensor, has it changed recently? It may have been set differently at the factory?

Normally 92 & 96 DegC ECU temp, but it could have the TVR Power cooling chip fitted which drops the temps by 4 DegC or so. Not a lot to be concerned about really as it keeps the water temperature closer to the optimum 90 DegC.

thank you for this very quick answers.

strange is when I drive lets say on a motorway with 80mph water temp. is around 88C and I can hear the fan relays switch on and off all the time.
Is this temp. too high for a motorway drive? Could be air in the system?

I find the motorway cruising temperatures depend on ambient temperature, today at 18 DegC mine was 78 DegC although at 30 DegC ambient it is usually around 90 DegC. Air in the system can give unstable readings causing the fans to cut in & out a bit randomly.
