I've got a long weekend with teh girlfriend in Dublin, coming up.

What's worth doing? particularly if it isn't on the usual tourist list of things to do.

I'm not long back from a long weekend in Ireland.

The trains are fairly cheap, a trip south to Greystones was pretty cool, with a nice beach and decent eateries. The train journey was very picturesque, especially along the cliff top.

The Guinness tour is excellent and includes a pint of the black stuff.

We also did an open top bus tour, it takes a couple of hours to do a full loop, but was well worth it.

If all else fails, go to a pub. We walked through the Temple bar area, but avoided the pubs there as they are very much a tourist trap, although saying that we did have a few in the Brazen Head.

Enjoy!

Go and look at the walls of the main post office in O'Connell Street.

They still have bullets holes from The Easter rising in 1916.

Very touristy thing to do but the Jamesons Tour is very good. Lovely bar in it too.

See if there’s a GAA match on, hurling, camogie or football. Or just drink….. a lot…..
