205gti import advice

They seem to command a lot of money, slightly over the odds IMO. Would you not consider a well sorted one from the UK?, there is a few very nice ones out there. Also, check out here:

Has the car ever been registered in an EU country or is it coming direct from Japan? Have a look at the revenue web site to see what the cost of registering in Ireland would be.
I would check out vrt quotes shouldnt be too serious on one of these but heres the link anywayhttps://www.ros.ie/VRTEnquiryServlet/ShowVRT
Also I would echo what is above and look at importing from the uk especially considering the likely cost of having one brought from Japan. 2 days spent in the uk with a hire car looking at 2 or 3 good examples would be time well spent and then if you want you can arrange to buy and collect the following week or even take it home there and then. Flights are very cheap and there are lots of cars available. See below:

Best of luck hope you find a good one. - If you need to PM me and I'll be happy to help with any info I can I've imported a couple of cars and would be happy to help.
I'd advise you to get this done before the new VRT regime in June it could be complicated to import a car like this after that date (proof of co2 emissions etc)
