Irish, Funky and Co.
Be content with your separate international Ireland forum - we in Northern Ireland are happy with our separate UK Region forum - we like you as neighbours but don't wish to get into bed with you.

I am not sure how the first two posts were meant to sound, but they sound like "Irish, Funky and Co" are being told to "sod off and leave us alone".
If that's how they were meant then fair enough, but if they weren't meant like that then a clarification might be helpful.
Ireland, mine was irony mate. I don't like people purporting to speak on my behalf. Especially when I took the same sentiments from Oscar's post as you.If that's how they were meant then fair enough, but if they weren't meant like that then a clarification might be helpful.

The message is this:-
I think it's a bit rich PHers from another international forum coming onto a UK regional forum and demanding for it to be wound up and combined with their forum.
If some NI PHers would rather post on the Ireland forum then feel free but leave the NI forum alone - thank you.

Tell me Oscar, who demanded anything?I think it's a bit rich PHers from another international forum coming onto a UK regional forum and demanding for it to be wound up and combined with their forum.

Also tell me who made you the arbiter of who can and cannot come on to which forum? I wasn't aware anyone on here was 'from' one forum or another.

I've just had a look on the NI section and can now see that this thread is just a continuation of what started on there.
What started as what seemed to be a genuine suggestion as how to possibly "improve" the forum seems to have turned into a semi-political debate.
I certainly feel that this topic could have been handled in a far more diplomatic manner by some of the members who replied.
But such is life, eh?

I haven't even expressed a view on the merging of forums Ireland. Can see how there would be practical benefits but can also see how there are benefits to two if only they were more busy.
What I do object to is people purporting to speak for me or telling me where I can and can't post.

In fairness it was in no way political. I can't even remember who suggested it but i was looking at it from a pure petrolhead view. I thought myself it was a good idea as then we could arrange meets easier as i have said before northern ireland is not a ferry trip away and is easy to access. Both forums are fairly dead and i thought it would be nice to have a bit of banter and some more happenings on this side of the water.
I never even thought of the idea it was posted on the Ni forum and how that was me going to an area i was not welcome as i should stay on the irish forum. I simply added to a thread which asked people what their thoughts were. The only person who responded in a very non friendly way was oscar and unfortunatly he has carried it over to another thread here. I have absolutly no wish to get into any kind of arguments especially political as this to me is a petrolhead forum all about cars and nothing else.
