Aston Martins - How Common!
Discussion
Any one else surprised with the piece on the news a few nights ago about our "new" spending habbits? One titbit of info was the sales figures for Astons here: 2004 sales or registrations of new Astons: zero. Sales for 2006: 24! There's even one a few doors down from my parents house, a V8 Vantage if I'm not mistaken. And then the usual rise of small exec cars and the demise of the econo box saloons like mine . Probably not such a bad thing in hindsight. Lets hope the Bently GT set gets their act together and buy some nice cars in the future, common as relatively expensive muc, those are.
Still nice though.

I think I never really got over the whole James Bond thing; an Aston still makes me stop and stare in my best slack-jawed yokel fashion, no matter how cool and indifferent masculine pride tells me I should be!
The winged badge is still rare enough to make my heart beat just a little bit faster; I hope they never get so common that we get blase about them!

They're mental expensive , they're unreliable , and NOW they're nouveau into the bargain.
You're right on all counts, but by Jaysus, they're jaw-droppingly pretty and that's got to count for something. Think of them as the Naomi Campbell of the automotive world; you mightn't be able to put up with one forever, but even a brief relationship would yield lasting memories

OT, but on that note, have you had a visit from the PSE Fairy yet? markomah said:

OT, but on that note, have you had a visit from the PSE Fairy yet? Damn , you'd be a good councellor (unless of course , you already are one!!)
PSE is ordered , and going on early next month when I'm getting the service done... Can't wait.
Are you thinking along the same lines?
I've been dithering about an exhaust for a few months now. I've decided that the PSE is the one for me; the ability to switch it off on occasion is something I'd be willing to pay a premium for. What's putting me off is the possibility of changing my car in the next 6 months or so; I don't want to sink that much money into my car, only to see someone else drive away with it in the near future. So, I think I'll wait for my next car to be plonked on the driveway before taking the plunge.
My decision-making process has been greatly assisted by Belgard, who I've asked four times for a price for a PSE and who have failed 4 times to get back to me. I also test drove a C4S they have when my car was last being serviced and asked them to let me know how much the cost to change would be; 3 weeks on, still no response. They don't seem desperately keen to have my business, so I won't trouble them any further....

Hope you enjoy yours; they really do transform the driving experience IMHO.
