Hi Everyone!
I'm currently working at Lotus cars in Hethel for just over three months gaining valuable work experience for the final year of my Automotive Management & Technology degree back in Dublin. I'm very keen on setting up a Lotus owner and enthusiast club on my return to Ireland. So I'm just looking for any Irish members or anyone that knows any Irish owners (north or south). I basically just want to see if there might be sufficient interest for a club and to organise frequent events at different venues across Ireland.
Rob!

Best of luck, but it is Ireland you are talking about.

The only things that seem to be getting groups of people together over here at the moment are small cars with big exhausts (Saxo's, Corsa's, etc).

Still, it would be good to finally drag Ireland out of the dark ages and give real car enthusiasts a chance to meet with like-minded people.

Would be a great way of getting together and helping each other with the problems that will occur with such cars.

And have an occasional piss up along the way .......

Rob,
Sounds good to me !
I'm Belfast based and have had my S1 since September last year. Been to a couple of TVR events with a Griff owning mate and it would be great to have a similar level of enthusiasm from Lotus owners here.
Keep us informed about how things progress.

That is indeed true even though I also drive a weedy corsa, but your right there is a need for a proper enthusiast club in Ireland which meets on a regular basis and has regular events. I've always had a high appreciation of the brand (from my dad) before I started working over here but since coming over here it has greatly spiraled! So I hope to set up a club which is in constant contact with Lotus HQ and our Irish dealer Linders. I'll keep in touch with everyone and hope to be up and running within a few weeks.

Rob!

If I move to Dublin, I let you know because I will be very interested to join a lotus owners group... I've created a small club in France with such cars and we organize 4-5 trackdays per year.

hi Rob,

I answered you post on another forum on PH, I'm an ex Elan+2 owner(Sold in june), I have a friend already after starting a lotus club, so one exists already. Its' profile is pretty low though, cos it's but a fledging. I'm actually in the proces of trying to but an S2 in the UK , and a co-worker of yours, Jonathan Sharp, is selling what I can only describe as the most beautoful elise on the net. i'm thinking of buying it. it's the prototype s2

i'llmail again tomorrow night as it's late and im tired, but i'd be interested in your opinion if you know aything about it.

I'll get the info on the lotus club together tomorrow evening at work(where I have the mails)

Best regards,

Brian O Halloran.

Anyone know the westfield and lotus elan race cars on the Stena HSS today? Red and Green numbered 32 & 33, towed by WW reg'd jeeps.

Hi Brian,

I would love the info on the club.

Good luck with the S2 search, one for sale on auto trader in the north at the moment.
