Getting back into the Porsche fold tomorrow with a yellow 968CS, nice.

Its got yellow wheels, yellow hard backed seats and will soon have the "Club Sport" decals down the sides, the height of good taste! All my friends are saying no don't do it but I always wanted one ever since I saw them at the motor show when they were new. Counting the hours now, will be collecting it from Eporsch tomorrow afternoon.....

Picked it up this evening, the boys at GT One were just finishing up with a suspension geometry set up on the car when I turned up, which is nice.

Oh my gawd its yellow, you do feel like everyone is looking at you in traffic. I'm going to spend the weekend polishing and spiving it up and when I get the Club Sport decals on I will post a link to the photos.

Up the Dubs; do you fancy a quick spin in the beast when I'm back in Ireland? I know I originally promised a Caterham 7 joyride, but thats gone now, let us know if you're interested and we'll set it up. I'll be back in Ireland 3rd week in July.

Cheers!

By the way, little quote about the 968CS in the current issue of 911 & Porsche World:-

"Jonathan Palmer said it was the finest handling car this side of a McLaren F1"

Enjoy!!

Yeh I had considered the F1 but as I didn't need 3 seats and I didn't have a spare £500k lying about decided not to go for it!

Was at the Supercar meet at Goodwood on Sunday with the 968CS. I only remembered to take a few photos of my car just as I was leaving.

Simon, are you heading to Le Mans this year? How do you find it after the Caterham. Saw you posted on Blatchat. Will you be going back to the 7 at any point? Tempted to take a 7 plunge this year.

Irish,

No won't be heading to Le Mans this year, maybe next year in the 968 it would certainly be more comfy than the 7 for that kind of journey. The 968CS is very like the 7 in many ways: very sensitive talkative steering, pretty basic on the inside, fun at low speeds etc. I don't think I'll be going back to a 7, hopefully I'll keep the 68 for a good bit, I've had 2 Caterhams now and I'm glad I did it. Blatchat.com is a great resource for info on the cars and full of very very friendly helpful people! If you haven't driven one before I'd say hire one for a day or weekend from Caterham to see if you could get on with it, and then buy one privately from a member on blatchat or pistonheads.

Cheers

Simon
