Can anyone recommend a good garage in the Dublin area? Or Drogheda area?
Its for an Alfa GTV 2.0 T-Spark which belongs to my ex. Apparently she's having problems with it and none of the garages she's used for servicing are managing to spot even the most obvious faults like worn brake discs, low brake fluid, lack of power etc.

I use Barry Whelan Motors for servicing my Porsche. Does specialise in Porsches but I'm sure he'd be more than up to looking at an Alfa. Is on 01 453 7224, and is on the canal on Lullymore Terrace just after Harolds Cross.
Otherwise, I've also used Kealy Motors in Donnybrook on my wife's Renault Clio, who were very good:
Kealy Motors
Ever Ready Ctr Donnybrook 4 Dublin T (01)2698709
Both of these might be a bit out of the way for you though by the sound of it.

Being a small nation, and a not particularly car enthused one at that, it is hard for "specialists" to set up shop due to a lack of demand. A shame but cé la vie.
I would have thought that an Alfa would have been easy enough to do though. Try octane.ie as there are a few Alfa drivers there, though most are based in Cork, they may be able to help.
