Hi All,

Moved over from the Netherlands and bought a volkwagen Caddy.(from 2017)

The DOE test is something I had to do myself instead of the dealer?

Why is it so difficult to get insurance as a eu citizen in Ireland.

Insurance in Ireland for anyone (with no Irish driving history) is notoriously difficult and expensive to find.

If it is commercial insurance (assuming it is due to DOE), then it can be criminal. Google the investigation into an *alleged* cartel in the Irish insurance industry for a bit of background!

There are a few specialist brokers who can help, but there is no cheap and easy solution in year 1.
