Relocating to Dublin and thinking about bringing my US-spec, LHD GT4 with me, BUT the road tax is very high and I'm not sure there are roads that would be fun for that car in Ireland. Something like the Fiesta ST might be more appropriate to conditions in Ireland, or another such car. Maybe the GT4 should be kept near the Köln airport for trips to Spa and the Nordschleife?

Advice, please.

Cars are expensive in Ireland - buying and running them (compared to most places in Europe and I'd imagine the US). Don't expect anything fun, nice and relatively new to be cheap.

Re: GT4 - there are some great driving roads here. I enjoy the TVR in Ireland and having you gt4 here means you get to enjoy the drive to Europe as well :-)

Only draw back is trying to overtake in a left hooker... :-)

Learned more here, thanks.

Current plan is to spend the first six months plus in Scotland and then move to Dublin. So, plan to buy a RHD car in Dundee or thereabouts and bring it in without VRT. Will hold off on bringing in the GT4 pending knowing more about the situation in Ireland.
