NCT - Customer Service ?

Saturday last I presented my wife's car for re-test. It had failed on suspension bushings and corroded brake pipes a couple of weeks back. I had an appointment for 5:30PM and turned up at 5:15PM.
After an inordinate delay getting my payment processed they took my car into the centre. (I had been told it was for a full retest). Just then a chap, who had been waiting a few minutes, went to the counter and apologised for being late, he had a 5:00pm appointment (he admitted it was his own fault) and asked if he could be accommodated. He was told, "No, we're closing up for the day".
I was back in my car and on the road home at 5:33pm. All told, my car was "tested" for 5 minutes, maximum.
This centre was supposed to be operational until 6:00pm, it wasn't.
I was supposed to have my car fully re-tested, it wasn't.
So much for Customer service. It would not have adversely affected the staff in the Centre one bit to accommodate this other man. (In fairness to the man he accepted what he was told and went off without a grumble.)

The last time I got the car NCT's the fellow whacked the door off the unit holding the PC and equipment and another time the guy was wheel spinning between stations. Some of the guys are gents and are genuinely interested in cars and others have no business handling property not belonging to themselves or being customer facing.
