The Vee - January 22nd 2012
Discussion
It’s time to go back to The Vee ….. for tea.
This started off in 2007 and has had a great turn out every year so far and it should be one of the great meets of 2012.
The date is Sunday the 22nd of January and the meeting time at The Vee is 3.00.
The date of the meet is the same date as the Cars and Coffee in Nenagh so it will allow those who want a full day of petrolhead fun the opportunity to start off at the first meet of the day in Nenagh at 10.30 and make their way from there at 12.00 to head for The Vee.
There is a second meet planned as a lunch stop at The Carvery Restaurant in the Thurles Shopping Centre at 1.00 and the multi-storey car park there will have loads of space for everyone.
We have negotiated a special deal for food there so be sure to print off the voucher which is attached to this thread to avail of this offer.
For those with very low / wide cars that don’t like multi-storey car parks there will be plenty of safe parking places on the street nearby.
After lunch we will be leaving Thurles at 2.00 to arrive at the third meet of the day at The Vee for 3.00.
This thread is posted to advise people that this day of meets is happening and this is not a cruise / hoon and we will all be making our own way there as individuals and not as an organised group.
Everyone is expected to have a fully road-legal vehicle, to behave themselves along the way between the various meeting places and to obey all the rules of the road and adhere to the speed limits but if you don’t you needn’t expect anyone else to try to get you out of trouble.
Assholes behind the wheel are NOT welcome and will be asked to leave.
For those not able to make all the meets you are welcome to join us for just one or two of them and we’d love to have you along.
The lunch discounts are also available at The Carvery Restaurant in the Tipperary Town Shopping Centre and at the An Bialann Restaurant in the Dungarvan Shopping Centre so those heading to The Vee from other areas will have the chance to avail of some top-notch grub at a reduced rate and we hope the local petrolheads from these areas meet there and make the day of meets even better.
Keep an eye on this thread (an particularly this first post) as it will be updated regularly.
The Vee is on the side of a mountain so it will be cold ….. dress appropriately.
There is NOT a coffee shop on The Vee so do bring a flask with you.
All true car enthusiasts are welcome so feel free to tell your offline mates about this and lets make this the biggest meet at The Vee yet.
Now where did I leave that flask …..
Edited to say that the link to the thread on Octane won't work as there is now a blanket ban or arranging meets on there.
It's nothing to do with any one event, just a rule that was largely ignored up to now is being enforced for the future.
For those planning to meet up and travel there together please start separate threads on here for this to make it easier to find stuff.

There seems to be a blackout on Octane(pity)
We were planing a meet in Cork and going to tie in with the run up the Vee for tea. I'll see how many we can muster up and post times for the Cork guy's to meet up.
I've added a note to the first post re why the Octane link is not available. We were planing a meet in Cork and going to tie in with the run up the Vee for tea. I'll see how many we can muster up and post times for the Cork guy's to meet up.
It's nothing sinister.
Can you start a thread for a list of people from your area to add their names and pick a good spot to meet up, etc.
That way it will be easier for those meeting there to get all the info in one place.

A good few of the Octaners had seen the thread before it was taken down so I'd say word will spread but feel free to PM as many as you want to let them know about it AG.
The road there is in good shape at the moment and I was talking to Dimitri in Athlone today and he drove it a few days ago and he had no problems so the 911 should be spot on for the trip.
Are you going to join us for coffee at Deltona and Sandi's in Nenagh or for lunch in Thurles and make a day out of it?
You'd be very welcome and it would be good to chat to you again as we haven't met you in ages.
