S2 Misfire

Has anyone had problems with there S2 misfiring and cutting out, mine has done it twice in the last week and the warning engine warning light comes on. I have only had the car 9 days and it has been in for 3 so far, and its back in today. I am getting really pi**ed off with Lotus now. What can I do?

Sounds similar to my problemssss....speedo not reading correct - so the ECU gets replaced....a few days later the car cuts out as I am sitting at some traffic lights and refuses to come on again...'hello Lotus AA'....

My dealer said they think there could have been a batch of 'dodgy' ECUs on some of the engines. I am onto my third ECU in 7 weeks. I too are not happy with Lotus / Mr Dealer either and have said that this is the last chance to get it fixed before i seriously pursue getting my money back.

If the engine is misfiring can this not be quite serious for the engine re damagin it etc?

Dont know if anyone cares, but I have just had a call from my dealer, and the Lotus engineer has been out to look at my car and it has gone back to the factory as they cant find out what is causing the problems. I have been told I will have a brand new car ASAP. With this in mind does anyone have a pic of the new soft top they could send me, and is it true they are now giving out a 2 year warranty as standard?

Its nice to hear that they will swap for a new car. Its sad that it was wrong in the first place. Hope the second car is much better.
