Hi all, my brother in law is looking to join the fold and has found a car he likes (second hand) from JCT in Leeds.

Its currently up for £17k and he's looking to pay cash for it. What should his expectations be on knocking down the price?

Thanks

Hi, if its the Ardent Red 111S at 16995 Id be careful. Only good thing for me is low mileage + dealer. Otherwise, poor spec car at the price. For 16-17K I d be looking for an R 2006 with leather and air con. Check out the car at Proctor, which could work out to be a far better buy after a 1000-1500 discount for cash. 17K should also buy an 111S, 2007 with touring and aircon and maybe even htop and under 20000 miles. Thats my view anyway. Good luck with the hunt

I think you should check your motors, I'm pretty sure that the 111s was discontinued in 2005, don't get it confused with the Elise S, that is a totally different car.

JCT are good guys but they'll always press hard for a good deal. For £17k he could find a cracking private 111R...

Managed to knock them down a bit so ended up getting it at what I think is a good price for a main dealer. Also, given its his first Elise he'd rather have the peace of mind when buying it from a reputable main dealer

That's fair enough. I can understand the safety blanket of a main dealer and JCT are good guys. Now get him over to nyloc.org!

Ha! I was a member of Nyloc a few years back. Paid my membership the first year they made it mandatory to go on the website, then rarely went to any meets so my subscription expired and I've never rejoined since.

I picked up my 58 plate SC from JCT a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't fault them.

I left a flyer under your windscreen wiper at the Fox & Grapes a few months back - I seem to remember you posting on the forum. I hope he enjoys his car!

Yeah I remember mate. He picks it up on Saturday, to say he's excited is a massive understatement!

I didn't sleep for a week before I collected my Elise. And two weeks before I picked up the Exige!
