Hi Guys
This is going to be a stupid question but I just picked up and Exige S MY 06 yesterday which has an Alpine head unit. The IPod cable has not been fitted and is separate in a bag.

Question is I take it I am going to have to remove the stereo in order to fit the cable? and what route does it it take from the back to the shelf under the stereo as there is no noticeable hole for the cable to come through.

Thanks in advance

I dont know if its the same as my 03 Elise but i don't think there is a direct hole handy hole, I think you have to take off the front speaker section on the left hand vertical side of the dash, you can feed it through easily there. Its dead easy but a bit of a fiddle. There are some instructions on Seloc techwiki.

I just did the same thing a fortnight ago. Hardest part is removing the fascia trim on the Alpine, it needs a good prising.

If you remove the plastic on passenger side lightswitch surround (2 screws in the little cubby hole) you can "thread" the cable along inside the dash to the radio hole. I then drilled a hole in the plastic at the end of the glovebox rail and used a rubber grimmer to finish it .

Just bought a dashbag from BLack Watch Racing, which is fantastic.

Thanks for the responses I will have another look tomorrow. The instructions for the Alpine head unit are not the best are there any keys ( pieces of metal) required for removing the head unit

No when you eventually get the fascia trim off, there's a pin on each side that you slide up then the radio pulls out. It's a proper PITA.

Hi Denis I heard you'd switched sides smile

My Scura had the same problem i.e. iPod cable was in a bag, my problem was made worse by the fact that the bag was in the workshop at Stratstone Leicester! I took mine back to the dealers for it's initial service and got them to fit the cable at that time.
