Torquey 160hp engine, lightweight, emissions compliant, tunable.

I can see were your going...

But you can fit a Honda or VAG unit which are both "known" engines .... & the MG6 engine is very much unknown

Is the MG unit an up of the K Series. If it is it will probably drop straight in. It may also be possible to buy a brand new one, which you can't with the Honda

Well i was more meaning more for new model production as there seems to be a hole between base 1.6 and exige these days, and the ZZ is dead, with the remainder toyota engines pretty dreary. I agree the honda engine is a better retro swap tho, 220 vs 160.

He said base 1.6 [Elise] AND Exige.

There isn't a 1.6 Exige. At the moment, it's just whatever's left of the 1.8 models.
