180 HP Toyota Engine Dyno Plot
Discussion
Greetings,
Assuming that the 180 HP Celica GT-S powerplant will power the Elise headed for North America, I thought it would be interesting to dig up a Dyno plot for the stock Celica GT-S powerplant. The link below shows wheel HP of 164 @ 7,500 RPM and torque of 121 ft. lbs. @ 6,800 RPM.

That works out to be a driveline loss of ~11%. Does anyone know the driveline loss of the S2?
Take care,
Tech

The engine bay is not that good in the Elise to have a small power loss... Ex: the same motor will give more power in a cat than in an Elise...
So it seems that the 160 VVC will be better as it will give the same power with less weight increase...assuming the Toyota Power plant weight more than the VVC one.
