My always reliable Exige S2 has given me a bit of electrical bother of late.

The central locking stopped working, so I bought a new CDL module (which I am yet to fit).

In the meantime the battery went flat, so I removed it to trickle charge it.

It all seems to work fine now but the DAB / CD player won't come on. It flashes the message "Kcard not OK" and then switches itself off".

I have contacted the orignal suppling dealer who confirmed this particular unit doesn't use a password, so I'm a bit lost

Is this likely to be linked to the knackered CDL, or does anyone else know whats going on.

Thanks

James

I vaguely recall having a special SD card with the Blaupunkt DAB radio that had the key code installed on it - you basically slot that in after removal/complete power loss and it resets the stereo for you - so that's probably what the KCard error is all about.

Not sure what you do if you don't have that card though. eek

Hmm Its a bi odd. I think its the third time I've had the battery off it and never needed to do anything before now - its just come back on of its own accord.

Hopefully we'll get it it sorted.

Is there an SD card in there at the moment (ie the key card)? If you have that in there already then maybe it needs a jiggle (technical explanation)

I replaced the battery in my 111R and the same thing has occurred. Please advise if you manage to get the problem sorted! In the meantime I've fitted a 2bular exhaust which seems to do the trick...

Behind the facia on the radio head unit there is also a SD card slot. The unit come supplied with a SD "key card" and after a power failure the key card need to be re-inserted as a security check against theft. Most of the time the card is just left in the slot from day one.

Find the card, insert then bobs your uncle etc...

Yep - thats got it.

Take the panel off - remove and replace SD card and the radio kicks back into life

Just got to motivate myself to sort the CDL module out at the weekend now

Thanks all

Funnily enough, I've had central locking problems today. Coincidence, maybe...
