I've not been able to drive the car for a couple of weeks and the battery is so flat I can't open the car with the remote contol. I don't seem able to get the key to work. What's the drill guys?

Thanks

I don't have an Exige, but I'm sure I read that you need to take off the service covers at the front and there are terminals to hook up to a charger so you can get some power in the battery.

There are battery points underneath the n/s/f(passenger side) access panel.(Mk 2 Exige only).
Make sure you have a fully charged battery before you try your central locking as bellow 12volts the cdl won't work properly.
Hope this helps.

Thanks
Can I just be clear you mean these points are for hooking up another battery / booster pack so I can activate the central locking.
I guess its not safe to hook a trickle charger up to these points, which would be the most straightforward
Thanks again

OK found the two battery posts, connected my jump charger and exactly the same issue - The lights flash in response to the remote control, but the locks don't open.

The charger ought to be OK, its almost fully charged, though I've got it on cherge now just in case

Any ideas?

May be stating the obvious but the keyfob may be flat or faulty. My old Exige fob was faulty and wouldnt open the doors. Change the battery maybe?

Thanks Phil

It seems to be working fine - all the lights are flashing correctly. I'm beginning to think its the central locking unit and the battery is fine.

A well known specialist told me this morning its probably its a coathanger job - joy!
