3/4 revs so for SC 6000RPM and that is why I am banned! The stupid thing is that it passed static at 96dBA, but as soon as I gave it the full beans I got black flagged on drive-by. I am still going along to watch Lamb Jiblets spin in the rain though!
Dear boy, the only reason you were band was because you got gobby with the marshalls when thay asked you to ease up a bit. you could always take your Halfords big boy exhaust off.If cars were noisy and tripping the meters that's hardly Goodwoods fault?
It's common knowledge in the trackday world that the council and local residents give them a hard time, so down to those booking to choose a day that suits their car - there are 105db days if you can't make 98db.

Hiya - yes agree but my whinge was more around organisation etc.
it took forever to get the car noise tested, then 1db over so go away get the engine warm & come back - ok fine. Up the road back 15 mins later noise testers nowhere to be seen, 20 mins for them to reappear, car now cold again 99db.
Same again as above another 35 mins gone & finally 98db.
Lunchtime - go down towards the start 15 mins before lunch & nope you are to late, same story at 3.40pm with a finish time of 4pm

I went to this trackday just to enjoy seeing what turned up and take some pics etc.
Regarding noise tests, this did seem to take a long time for some. At times the noise testing station was deserted. One of the marshalls said to me they had new equipment and were having some problems with it. Perhaps the old testing equipment should have also been taken as back up (unless now obsolete by new testing standards)? Also mentioned was a £10k fine for Goodwood if exceeding noise levels. Cars were not queing for testing at the same time though, which would have made it easier to get more cars done in one go, & other cars were also turning up at different times during the day, so perhaps the noise testers were caught out now and then if they went for breaks etc?
Otherwise, overall pit lane and track seemed well organised, and approx 15min on track slots meant people had reasonable track time, especially if they got straight back into the next queue. Max of 10 cars on track at one time mean't novices didn't feel 'crowded', and were able to concentrate both on driving and had time to notice those coming up to overtake. Lots of smiles from those taking part.
Good crowd, good weather, good day overall from Westover & Goodwood from what I saw, although i can appreciate the fustrations of those regarding noise testing and being able to get on track.

I agree with what your saying, but for the last four years Ive been going to Goodwood and have been tested at 83db every time and have never been pulled in for noise, untill now. Its a shame if the council is on there backs it will ruin a lovley track. I like a lot of others I know will have to stop coming due to the levels.
