Hi all.

S2 Elise is an '03 model, and I seem to have lost the towing eye that screws in. What's more the main rod that sits in the front clam is heavily peeled (the coating) and I am not overly confident how strong it is now.

As a result I was thinking of a replacement such as this one here: http://www.eliseparts.com/products/show/16/110/sta...

Any thoughts on S/S V's powder coating?

Anyone know how easy it is to replace? It's not my bag to be honest, so I shall ask Paul Matty's to do it for me when in for its next service.

I was wondering if it might be one of those jobs that costs £70.00 for parts as above, and £200 labour due to it being swine to do?

Thanks!

Nick

It only takes a few minutes to do. But only once you've removed the front clam. If your radiator isn't a replacement alloy one it'd be worth having that done at the same time.

So you're saying it's a front clam off job?

Thanks.

Yep, clam off. May as well get everything checked and obvious bits replaced at the same time.

Thanks then both.

Hmmm, at this rate I'm cruising towards a bigger bill.

So, with a car of this age (8yrs) would you go so far as to say DO do it all now anyway?

Thanks.
