Rears are showing approx 3.5mm remaining on my AD07's.

They feel good to go to me, and I avoid very wet or overtly icy conditions. At what level do you think I'm advised to change them please? Fronts are fine at 4mm+

Legally - Down to wear bars
My advice - Now

You cant always avoid the wet/standing water. Tyres also reduce consiserably in performance as the rubber ages and wears low.

I went a little lower than the wear indicators, still had a bit of life in them bit not much. It definitely teaches you to be steady and smooth, and I've only got an elise s!
I do use mine as a daily driver though so was drivng in rain and ice. I was fine but Tue dealer didn't like it when they took it to get Tue tyres changed!

Age is at least as important as tread depth. If they've been on there for a couple of years then they will be well past their best.

No need to worry about age here, did manage to get 18k miles from them but that was only a year and a half. I can't say I've noticed a massive increase in grip since having them changed, but I do drive like a girl!

Thanks everyone.

Mine have been on 14 months. I would avoid driving in obvious icy conditions, or lashing rain and what with Spring on the horizon I'm hoping top be able to take them down to the 2mm mark and then change them.

What depth are TWI's set at, anyone know? Legal min is 1.6, maybe it's that?

Not sure about the level the wear indicators are, but they are normally at a level set by the manufacturer as the point where they need replacing due to performance issues rather than legal ones. You normally would have a little way to go before illegal.
My miles are mainly motorway miles so I was willing to risk a few miles in a straight line, if the same distance was to be covered on country lanes I would of changed them earlier.

Don't you start! The first time I took it to get the tires changed (after 16k miles) I was told by the dealer they weren't in meed of changing yet and kindly offered my some driving lessons smile
