As of this morning I am no longer part of the Lotus bunch! As hard a decision as it was to move on from my dream car, I feel that I've had my fun and I must move on.

However, I now have a couple of bits of Elise extras for sale. A shower cape for the S1 Elise and a Lotus branded Elise dust cover. Any offers are more than welcome!

Sorry to hear you've said goodbye to your dream car. What are you replacing it with?

£40 for your dust cover?

Bonce,

Yep that's exactly the price I was looking for! I'll e-mail you my details etc.. I'm replacing the Elise with a Civic Type-R (please don't flame me!) mainly because it has a big boot, seats four people and can still perform, without embarrassing itself, at track days.

I've done exactly the same. My S1 was sold early last month & I picked my CTR up last Wednesday. 5 days & 600 miles later I'm sooooooooo chuffed. It drinks a fair bit more than the Elise (26-27mpg) but the VTEC change & the final 2k revs are so addictive. It feels really solid, looks pretty cool (for a hatch) & is very comfortable. Up to the VTEC point it can be a little lazy (relatively) but after this point it is really quick in any gear (I've not tried it in 6th yet but that equates to 120 +). The steering has been criticised in the press, but my only criticism is that it pitches backwards & forwards over small undulations in the road & that the handbook (being from a Japanese manufacturer) has cautions on every other page telling you not to do silly things otherwise an accident may occur in which you may die!!!!!

OK this off topic but, CJN could you join my appeal in trying to get a Type-R forum started up. I want to discuss Type-R related stuff and don't want to bung up any other forums! Thanks!

I'm not sure how much interest we would get, but I would like somewhere to discuss any problems, ideas etc etc. This is a fantastic website & I have been regularly visiting it for nearly a year.

Perhaps PetrolTed would oblige?

Nice one, but could you plead you case in 'Website Feedback' 'Type-R Forum'. The fact is we are discussing a Japanese car in the Elise forum, which I feel is slightlt OT!!

Only 10 days until I get my new 'runabout', can't wait! CJN BTW what colour is your car?

I bought a red car, partly because I'm a tight git but more beacuse there are too many silver cars on the road & I don't want a black car that wants washing every two minutes.

Having now had my car for a week I am really pleased with the colour & am glad I made the choice I did. Hopefully it will help numpties see me coming!
