Two question here, first one is, what are peoples experience of the tyre repair kit supplied with the car, S2 in my case. Once injected does this allow you to drive to a service station so you can then reinflate the tyre and drive home.

Second, has anyone had experience of calling the AA out to a flat tyre and having them recover the car on the breakdown policy. Reason I ask the second question, is that I've had an occasion recently, where my daily car left the road due to the snowy conditions, and because of the downhill nature of the road and ice, I couldn't get the vehicle the few feet back onto the road, and althought the AA attended, I had to pay for the recovery costs, £130, as it wasn't classed as a breakdown situation.

In that respect, then, would a flat tyre be regarded as a breakdown, on a car that carried no spare, just an inflation kit ?

Sad to say I have sat in a pub watching an AA man outside in the rain changing a wheel for me. So yes a puncture is classified as a breakdown. Or at least it was last time I had one!

Been there, done that, but worse in a 111S.

Going rather quickly down the hill near Boscombe Down, before the speed camera's installed, hit something in the road. Speed sufficient for the centrifugal force to keep the rear NS tyre reasonably shaped up to the roundabout, where things suddenly got messy. Tried the inflation can, but found a hole the size of £2 coin in the inner side wall.

AA came and, this is the risky bit, fortunately we looked at the service list of dealers and took it to a tyre supplier who actually had a tyre of the right size (near the Winchester Lotus dealer). Otherwise it would have been a 2 day wait.

So yes you can, but beware going to the nearest tyre supplier, if he is not specialised
