Hi,
The front black grills are getting rusty and starting to flake. How easy are they to remove? I will probably have them Powder coated.

Secondly, I have a slow coolant leak can't see anything in the engine bay, can't see any puddles. Could this be the weak radiator or failing hose clips? If the front clam needs to be removed, how easy? Is it removed in the same way as the VX220?

Thanks.
Paul.

be interested to see what people say on the gauze as mine could do with a refresh.

I have had the hoses come off and it happens with a bang. One of the hoses you can see and get to without removing the CAM. I think you have to remove the inside front wheel arch on the lhs but it could be the right. Either way they are very easy to get off.

cheers

Hi Paul

I am no expert on the Europa - but used to own a VX220.

To remove the Vauxhall 'V' at the front of the car used to be a front clam removal job. Obviously doesn't necessarily mean the same on the Europa.

Also the VX220T used to crack the header tank due to UV exposure. Might be worthwhile checking if it has discoloured/ cracked causing the leak. Radiators can also be vulnerable to leaking.

My Europa is going in on Tuesday due to water leak - I think it is a small hole in the front of the rad but probably won't be sure until the clam comes off. I called the AA out when the usual steam from the front in wet weather appeared in dry weather and the coolant light came on. I am hoping AA P&L will cover the cost.

I had a leak from the pipe leading from the coolant reservior and it was dripping onto the exhaust, so no puddles. Turned out to be a loose connector
