Does the Elise S2 Soft top fit in the Elise boot?

So if it starts raining it can just be got from the boot...or is the boot too small to hold it?

Yes, it fits quite easily. You can push it in behind the battery so it doesn't take up any of the space under the opening if you want to be able to carry luggage, as well.

Thanks guys...

Does the shopping not get cooked with the heat from the engine? smile

It will also fit behind the seats if you don't use the carry-bag. Means you can cruise tops-off with a full boot when you're touring.

Apparently not -- but I wasn't going far.

I'll have to try the roof behind the seats. Last time I was touring I'd packed the boot with the roof on top. Sarah put one additional bag in it and then decided to repack the entire load with the roof on the bottom. It started to rain, so I stopped intending to quickly fit the roof......

No, the floor of the boot geta a bit warm but that's it. It's not like you'll be doing 100 miles with the shopping in. If you're really worried put the cold stuff on top. It isn't a problem tbh.

I think most of the heat comes up from the exhaust/drivetrain rather than back from the engine. It's prudent not to leave chocolate in there on a long run but it's not bad.

I would n't go that far - the battery takes up part of it.
I can normally fit 3 bags of shopping in there.

Three bags? That's poor packing in that case loser (no offence!!!) tongue out

I'm still at uni so have to ferry stuff from London to Southampton all the time.

My best "boot pack" yet has been the soft top, a Desktop PC (tower and monitor) and clothes to last me a week (big soft sailing bag) plus a coat. The boot is a lot bigger than you think. Just a bit of planning and sensible packing (not just throwing it in) and you really can get loads in it! thumbup

A surprising amount, yes. The boot extends all round the sides past the lights etc. To fill it often my passenger just has the roof to their left.

It's a shame the roof doesn't go behind the seats actually - it's so close to working! Only needs another couple of centimetres of space and it'd drop behind the seats easily.

It does go behind the seats in my S2S... unless you need the driver's seat all the way back, I suppose. I'm 6'2" and it all fits fine. My special secret technique is to roll the roof into the middle from both sides. You're then left with something more oval than circular in cross-section.

Yes, it won't fit in the bag, but if you roll it so both halves are equal and slide the driver's seat forwards, it will just fit. It's a tight squeeze but proves invaluable when you're touring and fancy some roof-off action. In my experience, girls need to carry a lot of stuff on holiday so the boot is invariably full when we're away in the Elise...

I currently keep a can of tyre weld and a foot pump in the boot which I suppose takes up valuable room. Are you guys doing similar, or just praying you dont get a puncture?

You should have tyre weld in the front compartment. I always take a pump and gauge though. Halfords are doing a very small single barrel pump for a fiver at the moment that does the job nicely :-)
