Just had a letter to say that peninsula has ceased trading from the 5/11/2010 - so i thought i would just made a suggestions for all lotus owners in the South West to try sportomotive at salisbury-ask for cos. They have an exceptional level of expertise and can cater for all types of lotus, I have taken many of my cars there over the years until I started buying brand new cars that had to be serviced by lotus for warranty issues etc. Hope this helps a few owners in the south west area.

Sadly, probably the start of things to come re lotus reviewing dealer network/proposed new range of cars with little in between for enthusiasts/dealers.

Peter Smiths, my local dealer are no longer selling new cars but still doing servicing/parts.

Made me rethink plans regarding an Evora S

I think that's a bit insensitive considering people have lost their jobs and I thought in it's day it was one of the better ones, given the limited choice in that part of the world. It used to be very convenient for me too having both a Lotus and a TVR.

In case anyone knows anyone who used to work there I wish them all the best.

Sportomotive also look after TVRs - there was one in last week for a service. I'm pretty sure Cos used to service them as part of a main dealer.

BTW I have nothing but good things to say about them - used them for 10 years now!

Sympathy to those put out of work but frankly Peninsula haven't been up to the mark as a Lotus dealer for a while. Last time I drove past I don't think there was a single Lotus around - just loads of Protons.
A decent Lotus dealer is badly needed in the South West Peninsula: nearest main dealer must now be in Bristol which is over 110 miles from me and much further from western Cornwall.
Its not all bumkins down here Lotus: plenty of lovely cars kept as toys and I'm sure there's enough people with the neccessaries to get into Lotus ownership - they'd just like the reassurance of a good quality purchasing experience and good quality servicing (although we do have some excellent independants).
