S1 brake & reversing lights
Discussion
Find the connector (should be somewhere on the LHS of the engine bay) and separate it, check that it's clean and then re-mate it... will hopefully solve the problem.
I can't think why it'd be anything other than the connector as the stop and reverse lights come off different fuses and different feeds from the battery, so for both of them to fail simultaneously implies that there's either a coincidental failure in two fuses/circuits, or the multi-pin connector to the rear clam harness isn't making contact on some pins.

rev light wire is NOT in the multi-plug on an S1.
they are the two bullet connectors along side it, marked LH and RH, this is because it's the same loom on LHD and RHD cars, so you have to swap the wires between them.
not sure about why the brake lights are not working, I would suggest the fuse then switch need checking as for 3 lights to all fail is odd...
