Am I missing something?

This is listed at three thousand plus miles at 20k. Sound right to you ?

Thank you.

Seems a bit steep to me, but then again Europa prices seem to vary wildly. A quick autotrader search will show similar europas all going for quite different prices.

They are a hard car to price as there are so few available, specs vary quite wildly and it depends on how badly a potential buyer wants one. I think buyers can offset the purchase price against the fact it will depreciate very slowly. These cars maybe even have some potential to appreciate if well cared for.

It seems some weeks there are only one or two available in the whole country so they can sell quick at good money or there can sometimes be 6 or 7 available at any one time, the less desirable of which hang around even when well priced.

Have no idea what I would put mine up for, have been thinking about selling it recently but can't make my mind up. Mine is a little higher in miles than a few about at 34k but is immaculate, as it come out the factory and has every tasteful and expensive factory option with the extra leather, silver pearl paint, boot pull, 225 and brake upgrade, ventureshield kit etc on it. I get the feeling that one day someone would pay £20k for it another day you could scratch around to find a buyer at £17k.

Highly spec'd original 225 cars with good colour combo's seem to get very close to £20k and basic less desirable coloured early cars as low as £16k. I guess this guy has priced it realistically and will want close to the asking in the next few weeks but if it hangs a while will accept a lower offer.

These cars will appreciate rapidly. Notice just how many more Europa threads there are on here and on SELOC recently? Get in there quick. They will be gold dust.

Thank you peeps. I have been thinking about one for quite some time.

Currently own a 111s 160hp K series...might you see the change as an understandable direction to go in?

(ETA... S2 and not an S1 btw.)

Dont believe anyone who says there is not much difference between an S1 Elise and a Europa!! They are miles apart in comfort. The Europa is the quietest of the Elise-Tub based variants and you can actually hold a conversation without raised voices. OK, the space is the same, and the physical comfort is not much different (with Nitrons) but on Euro trips the Europa is civilised, boot space for two and the lower cill makes a difference.

Other major differences from an S1 are the weight of the car being 980kg, this is noticable in the driving, and of course the power assisted brakes. I love the Europa and is my fav Lotus. Nearly bought one myself....but would be silly having the same car as my other half!!

Comments like this are not what I want to hear!

I bought a Europa privately in late 08, and got more than I paid when I traded in for an Evora 18months later. Almst kept the Europa as well, but couldn't justify the use it would get. Ever since, I wish I had.

Great size, power and relatively comfortable compared to Eliges. Nothing at all wrong with Evora, and also a great 'family' car for daily use with small kids, but something different about the Europa, that everyone seems to be catching on to now.

They must be about the fastest moving cars in classfieds, but if a decent SE ever appears, then I plan to get in first!

I'm thinking there can't be too many people who have had a Europa and an Evora, given that I've never bumped into another one of either...

Interesting to read your thoughts about Evora/Europa ownership. I have had my Europa for a couple of years and have always intended getting an Evora this or next year. I decided a couple of months ago to leave it until next year because I am enjoying the Europa so much. But since then have been working out if I could have both. It is quite hard to sensibly justify both but as much as I want an Evora I really don't want to give the Europa up. Great minds? Or fools seldom differ?
