Help Please - Misfire
Discussion
Hello,
S2 Elise K series.
Started misfiring this morning but cleared after a mile or so.
Then this afternoon did it again only worse, and the engine warning light came on.
Cleared after a mile or so, I figured just a bit of moisture somewhere. Now It really is misfring (sounds like its on 3 pots only. I'm miles away from a dealer or specialist and could not drive it anyway ( the engine warning light is now flashing) I'm a fairly competent on the spanners - anything simple or obvious to look for?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

When I've had misfire issues it was moisture in the distributor cap, but I think the S2 engines all have distributor-less ignition?
I think you can have issues with moisture in the spark plug holes too, I know whenever mines been worked on they've always put plenty sealant on the cover to try and prevent it.

check that the spark plugs have not filled up with water.
remove the engine cover and pull the cables off the spark plugs, Roll up some kitchen paper and push it into the sparkplug hole.
Mine S1 did this and it was due to one of the plugs swimming in water! easy to fix.
Don't go driving it with the MIL light flashing though as it's sending unburnt fuel down the cat which is going to break it.
