All europas have aircon, elec windows. Key differences with lux are different seats (harness holes in them), leather covered dash and leather covered door sills. I am not sure if this was a factory option in 2007 so this may have been retro fitted.

It does not have harness holes in seats but they are leather, It sounds to me like it may not have lux touring pack.

Think they have extra padding on the door cards, wood gear knob and a kind of saddle bag in the boot for keeping odds and ends in. Not so sure about the leather on the dash though, the one i looked at was just painted cream to match the seats etc! looked ok from a distance though!

Depends on your preference to be honest, do a google image search on Europa interior and look at differences. Some think all the additional leather is ott while others seem to like it.

I thought it a bit ott tbh, specially as the door cards tend to peel off after time! I thought it was only the SE that got seats with belt holes? Could be wrong though.... Personally i thought finding the best car was more important than the lux pack? I ended up with black leather and red door inserts and seat inserts...Works quite well really. Oh and a 225 is very important as you get better brake discs and more power!

LUX pack seems to be identifiable by leather dash, sills, roof and boot, starter button and wood gear knob, I have seen lux leather with standard seats and some with leather on the passenger air bag cover. Not sure if said cars had retrofitted lux packs though.

Europas came out as only S spec initially with some getting Lux pack. Later The S was dropped and a standard Europa and SE were sold. I have never seen a standard Europa, The 2 main interiors seem to be lux tan tango orange and standard biscuit and black.

Its all a bit confusing as Europas seem to be pretty bespoke and it all depends on what the first owner requested.

Europas are rare and there are some individual interiors out there. My favorite interiors are the black quilted of the diamond edition or the red lux leather of movanos Europa. Sadly we have the boring black and tan.

To add more confusion there was the 225BHP upgrade for the S, which gave you bigger brakes on most cars! Standard cars and S models are 197BHP. The SE has different wheels (multispoke), 222BHP and AP brakes.

It is unlikely to see 2 Europas exactly the same.

On the exterior one can recognize a "Europa w/lux pakkage or SE" on the small grilles below the rear lights they(4) are in light grey colors,
the same ones on normal Europa's are black colored... the front blinkers next to the grille, are located in plastic capsules, if they have the color of the car, it means it's a Europa w/ lux package or an SE, normal Europas are having black colored plastic caps..

Herman...Europa S 225.

This is the interior of a regular Europa S (my old car). Dash is black dimpled plastic. Seats, door inserts, etc are leather, but not as plush as the Lux pack. No starter button and no wooden gearknob.

I've done a write up on the car if you're interested (in "My Garage").

Nice write up Jim, really enjoyed the read.

I see that you have moved it on as you fancied a change, interesting to see how you get on with its replacement and how the ownership costs pan out.

I don't know what to do with mine at the moment. I love my Europa but you only have so many driving years in you so I like to change cars every now and again. I've had mine a good while now, its a great spec, nothing bar a rare SE really any better. This car has gives me a problem as just what do you replace it with? I have a Vito Dualiner van for a daily run about and transporting my motorbikes, plus a diesel Passat estate for family duties. The Europa really is a toy I'm not using much these days. The thing is I can easily justify keeping it in my garage and using the odd day as it seems to be depreciating so little. It also costs so little to run and maintain. If I replaced it with anything else, even something more conventional it would end up costing me much more to own. Going back to a used Porsche or an M series for me then brings in expensive warranty costs as I wont own those cars without. I just wonder if I sold my Europa I might regret it a little while down the line so keep talking myself out of changing it.

Thank you. I actually quite enjoyed writing it once I got started and ended up doing a similar write up on my previous VXT as a result. Will definitely do the same with future cars (may even use the blog feature of the garage as well).

I had the same discussion with myself when I replaced the Europa. Had to get my head around the fact that any other car would be a totally different, less interactive experience. Once I'd got past that, I could see that there were a lot of really good cars out there for around £30k (or better, if second hand). I think if you are looking for a sporty coupe at the moment, you're pretty spoiled for choice. I chose the Scirocco R because it seems the best all round option - good performance, excellent build, good looks, good practicality and (I admit) it has that element of desirability about it too.

Sorry for the thread hijack OP. PM me if you have any more questions on the Europa.

Nice write up Jim.

We looked at buying one of the last VXT's, Regreted not buying it until we got the Europa.

Anyone off to Brands Hatch this weekend?

Allegedly there will be 2 Europas on track!

I know I'm going to get punched for speaking ill about the elise, but here goes.
I have an elise, I love my elise, nearly everyday I cannot think of a better car for me than my elise. And then I see the inside of tuckers car and I think wow that looks good. Should I of bought a Europa instead!

That is one stunning, absolutely stunning interior.

I'm gonna go now and apologise my Liz for thinking about trading her in.

Jim, interestingly 'your' Europa is for sale on the PH classifieds having done 500 miles more and an increase in price, using the same photo from your very interesting garage write up. It's also advertised on Top Marques. The phone number on the Top Marques advert corresponds to a couple of garages in Beds. The same seller was advertising an Alfa Spider last week.

By coincidence I am after either an Alfa Spider or a Europa, yes I know they're very different. Having had Esprit, Elan, Elise & Exige in the past I fancied a bit of a change!

Cant really comment on that. However, they are my photos in the ad.
