Exige - Thinking of Changing exhaust to 2bular
Discussion
I have a tubular on my N/A Exige and it sounds very good and wonderful at 8k rpm (especially in the Dartford tunnel!). It burbles and pops too. I also have a ITG intake so part of the 'noise' may be come from this too. Very well made and lighter than the original, a bit like your wallet will be! Well worth the cost.
Some people have a problem with the MIL light coming on though.

Always a good excuse to post a video when this question is asked_ I went down the Larini route; great sound when on the loud peddle, very little drone when cruising and it doesn't have to be as loud as the exige in the vid.

The MIL light will be your induction, nothing to do with the exhaust back box. Some people have a problem with the MIL light coming on though.
2bulars are excellent quality,go for it(anything is better than the standard hairdryer though)
Jim Valentine is a very nice man
Which reminds me I was supposed to send him some videos
I bought a 2bular 8 x 22 for my Scura and Jim got the twin tips coated in matt black to match the car and they look the dogs. The sound at idle is exactly the same as the standard system but the 2bular sounds so much better under hard acceleration and also at higher revs. The standard box was a very tinny sound whereas the 2bular is much nicer. It is also smaller, lighter and pops and bangs on lift off
I'll post up a picture later once I have access to my laptop.

i've had an 8x22 on my car for a few weeks now, i'm very happy with it - plenty quiet (albeit with a very noticeable low rumble) driving slowly, and it really opens up with the revs. nice to hear something other than the s/c screaming too.
the car also has the CN upgrade plus a k&n induction, the whole package works very well.

The best, bar none. And it's not just quality product, it's customer service beyond reproach too. I value that, so whilst Jim's exhausts fit perfectly and are made to exacting standards, there may be other firms that make similarly well-made pipes. But no other firms I've dealt with go that extra mile in customer service that makes a truly great company… the Scura black-tipped exhaust mentioned above is one, the exhaust on my car is another. It's said that all companies look good when things are going well, it's how things are dealt with when they go wrong that is key - and Jim will not stop until you are 100% happy with his product. There's belief in it, and that really matters.
Furthermore, and away from the 'we love Jim' stuff - his exhausts are *very* well judged. They really *do* affect performance - there's probably nothing in it on a dyno, but throttle response is *definitely* improved and the two cars I've had with his exhausts felt much more eager to rev after fitment. Essentially, his 'big safe' exhaust (the one I choose each time) also has NO resonance and is quiet enough for trackdays.
I took my girlfriend on a road trip around France (start at Calais, Reims, Dijon, Annecy, Chamonix, Castellane, Cannes, Bormes-les-Mimosas, Beaune, Dijon (again) and Calais - a fair old trek) and we were absolutely *ragging* it all the way from Annecy to Chamonix and down the D1212 and N85 to Cannes, some sections were borderline road rally stage idiocy and out of the very very very few complaints we had about the car on the long journey, I don't think *either* of us ever once mentioned the noise levels inside the car from the exhaust. It's an Exige - without the Touring Pack, and you can hear that exhaust.
But Jim's tuned it just right - you hear it when you're really pushing on (as you'd expect) and it makes the car sound a bit more like a proper sports car and not a chavved up hatchback (yeah yeah, I know I want more cylinders ) - but when you're cruising, it's smooth and quiet. And no resonance! Have I already said this?
Can't go wrong with a 2bular.

Just wondering if there are any more 2bular stories. Will be getting one as and when I get me an SC
Well, 6months after I posted in this thread (see below), I did go ahead and get an 8x22" catback for my Exige S. Bloomin' marvellous exhaust, added much needed volume increase (but more importantly, tonal character and overrun pops and bangs), without being a nuisance on what is my only car. No issues on track, either, save for me having to take it easy around the noise meter at Bedford during a 'How Fast' session, but that is a STRICT circuit. So yes, do it! As said by Cyberface, it gives the car the sound to go with the looks.

It's my intention to upgrade the exhaust on my recently acquired Exige S, and it didn't take too much reading up to work out which make to go for!
It will definitely be getting a 2bular as soon as possible!

Weve just built a mid power NA engine with tubular manifold and exhaust, the manifold was very good, impressed our engine builders.
Video of it on the dyno here, it gets glowing nicely.
