I'm still undecided whether or not to take the plunge on an evo s or get one of the last exiges.

A major plus for the Exige other than cost is that I can take the roof off. I also love the way they look and drive. Future classic status is assured. Major evo
plus points are the v6, 345 bhp, the rear seats (I have nippers) and greater suitability as a daily driver.

Get the Evora then: you'll be able to use it more often.

Just to play devils advocate, I used to have a VX220 and then went to an Exige, and missed being able to take the roof off a lot! Yes the roof comes off, but realistically, it's pretty pointless as you need to leave the roof at home. I guess with the exige you still have the option, but I only had my roof off once or twice.. frown

Now with the Evora, is still miss being able to take the roof off, but the wife has a Mini Cooper convertible which almost works! hehe

Out of the two cars, It depends on what you'll use it for? How many track days?

The Evora as an all rounder is better in every single way. Although its not quite as pin point as the Exige

I have an Elise with hardtop so I reckon I would take the roof off now and then. At least it's nice to have the option. I would enjoy giving gt3 owners a fright in the evora though, it's a real sleeper the evo s.

Yup,

In an odd position myself now, had 6 different Lotus car's and not really using the Elise for track work anymore so I'll be looking at a few car's in a couple of years

Evora S (2nd hand)
911 C2
Ferrari 360

Not buying any more Elise variants as we need something that we can use long distance as well

Perhaps we could come to some arrangement! I'd like an Evora S while I wait for Lotus to build me an Elite.

I'm meticulous at running cars in, treat my cars extremely well and am very mechanically sympathetic. ie exactly the sort of person you'd want to buy a used one from!

Perhaps you'd like to let me know your ideal spec now?

I should add that the Exige I was looking at was not actually for sale anymore so it's either a Roger Becker Exige or nothing. As previously posted I had been waiting for the Paris show before deciding whether or not to get a 260 Cup. Sadly that is not an option any more. It's the RB edition or nothing.

While I have the utmost respect for RB himself I don't think the edition that bears his signature is as desirable (or carbon fibre-ified) as the Cup 260 or Scura editions despite sharing that fantastic variant of the toyota engine.

So all in all it's looking very like an Evora S then.

I am sure you wont be disappointed: just a question of whether you can get that colour of green that you want! And what spec you go with.

I'd second that. The very reason I chopped my Exige in for a 997.

Very tempted by the Evora S though, fancy one in metallic BRG with the silver paired-spoke wheels and oyster leather, then it would match my Esprit S3! smile

Metallic BRG isn't an option, so it'll be a custom job which could be pricey. Have Lotus released the pricing for the 'S' yet? Haven't seen it anywhere.
