It seems that these are no longer produced.

I need to replace one rear tyre soon, don't really want to replace both as the other (also a DCK) has plenty of tread. What do ppl here recommend?

Maybe replace the one tyre with a potenza re040 CFE tyre (for vx220 i think)?

I have the standard re040 CFE tyres on the front.

Do these dot codes really make much difference on the road?

Thanks.

Ran 3 sets of the VX220 one on my previous Elise without a problem. Plenty of posts on seloc about this one, ideally you run them with a little less pressure I seem to remember. Need an opinion from a tyre expert on the mixing question though.

Must admit to thinking it was 1psi more than the DCK, as the VXs tyres had softer side walls or soemthing.
I could be talking complete rubbish, or just have it round the wrong way.

Person I seem to remember who knew all about this was Shangani(sp?)

I ran several sets of the VX tyres on my 111R prior to giving in and moving to AD07's. The last set did 3000 miles around Europe's mountains including Stelvio, and never once did they feel worse than the Lotus version. In the end I got bored with trying to source the VX ones even, and they had got more expensive than the AD07's, so it was time to change.
