Inspection of potential Elise purchase in South/South West?

A friend (and it is a friend, not me wearing a bag over my head) is looking at buying what I understand to be a 2002 "K" engined Elise, from a private seller. My friend is a good engineer, but not a Lotus expert, and wants to get the car inspected; he is in the Southampton area, the car is in Yeovil. Any suggestions as to who he should use for the inspection? Thanks.

Yeovil is just up the road from me so I'd be happy to meet your mate there and check-over the car with him (10+ years of working on Elises and an engineering background means I should be able to help) - might even know the car from seloc spanner days I've held!

Thanks everyone, and especially James JC for your kind offer. I have passed on the info to my friend, and he is pondering his next move. I am busily encouraging him, as I have never driven an Elise, and like the idea of having a go in his... Anyway, he needs luring away from his diesel Audi, for some of the time at least.
