Hey

My engine warning light has come on - there's seems to be no problems though, the car runs great, fluids and temp all good, power fine etc. But I seem to recall a couple of posts that said Millteks sometimes cause this? Anyone experenced this and if so, what's the fix?

Cheers
Steve

You'd save yourself stacks of time and energy just doing a diagnostic on the car. There are many cheap ways to read codes, much cheaper than guessing what might be the problem.

It will be the miltek causing the sensors to mis-read the O2 content and register a MIL light.

You can get a modification to these that effectively connects them together so it will never mis-read

Alternatively, you can get an ODB2 reader to reset the MIL light - this is very cheap (£20) from ebay

Mine does the same. I tried fitting the capacitor kit from Elise parts but it made no difference. Never heard of connecting the two together, is this a kit you can buy Rog?

Not that it matters since my car is off the road...sniff.

Thanks Rog

So without the mod, I assume you'd need to reset the MIL light regularly with ODB2 reader? Is the mod an easy fix? (Excuse my mechnical ignorance)

Most likely due to the sport cat! I have had some adapters made up to cure this problem. Have worked 100% on many cars but have not tried on the Europa yet....That is about to change as my eml has come on a few days ago, should be fitting the adapter this week!

Adaptor has been on for a couple of hundred miles now and no eml on! Passed it's mot test today although it took a fair while to light of the sport cat!
Obd reader shows a nice steady 450 mv from sensor 2

are you selling these adaptors or do you have a design I could copy. My whole system will be replaced due to accident damage and would be a perfect time to fit kit.

cheers

I have a batch made up every now and then by a machine shop. When i come across a vehicle with the dreaded P0420 i can fix it! I have a couple left at the mo so if you want one let me know. £20 inc postage in the UK i guess.
