Guys,

the exhaust is blowing on my S1.

forgive my ignorance on the matter and the dullness of the subject in comparison to the el'beast debate, but what are my options with regard to replacement?

is the exhaust in sections? can bits be replaced? or is it a matter of replacing the whole system each time?

Am i looking at £300 for a replacement?

your advice would be appreciated.

Depends where it is blowing. The exhaust starts at the manifold (unlikely to be blowing) goes to the flexi section (which decays and is likely to go) which goes to the cat/cat replacement pipe which should be fine and finally the exhaust box and pipes which if they're stainless steel shouldn't go in a particular hurry.

So if it's a new flexi section you're probably looking at around £100 fitted, and a new exhast should be around £300 for a sports exhaust. There are plenty of second hand standard exhausts knocking around, but you're best off getting a brand new stainless sports exhaust.

Go for the Eliseparts sports 'zorst and leave the cat in.

IMHO just about the perfect set up. Lovely burble at low revs and sounds fantastic when giving it some.

About £350 and worth every penny.
