could anyone identify this part for me please?
Discussion
it's a some sort of selector plate on the bottom of my gearbox...I think it's the cause of my gearbox being very baulky - after I accidentally selected 1st and 3rd on a drive recently I didn't manage to break the gearbox (just graunched it) and ever since it's been hard to change gear, almost like driving without the clutch!
the garage reckon it's this plate in the photo which is the problem, as it regulates the cables connected to the gearstick itself, and is "out of whack" problem is, short of buying a new gearbox, the garage (and the local dealer) have no idea what constitutes "in whack" and as such the problem has remained un rectified for some 6 weeks now! so, I turn to the PH massive once again
help!
thank you
That part is the 'crossgate bellcrank' The bushes that it pivots on often wear out and cause a baulky gear change. You can get new bush kits from ebay for not very much £, and it's not a difficult job to change them.
