It seems the screws don't go far enough in. Somebody must have caught the mirror in the car park. Two plastic towers have broken in a black plastic collar. Is it an easy fix?

if it's an S2 this was a problem that Lotus accepted as being a 'we'll fix it for you' one - according to their tech chap Nick, it got traced to an 'over-enthusiatic screw tightener' at the factory - meaning some fall off and some dont! (really) I suggest you call a dealer and tell em it's randomly fallen off, and that Lotus will replace it.....

Yeah just ask. I've had stuff fixed well out of warranty for known faults.

Still waiting for mine to fall off!

Lotus refused to replace the plastic throttle body on my S1, even through it had been reported as a problem at every service and within the 12 months warranty period.

Kings Warwick kept 'cleaning' the throttle body, at my expense. Eventually I fell out with them and took the car elsewhere and had a metal body fitted, also at my expense.
