Looking to buy an Exige with both the Touring and Performance Pack but conventional companies take these as modifications and aren't interested. Managed to get a quote from A Plan but it feels expensive, double my current car which is 330bhp. Any suggestions particularly a Specialist who understands Lotus' Option Packs?

CCI without a doubt.

You get free track days and you dont even need to use your own NCB as they will give you 4 years discount plus discount if you are a member of a Lotus club.

A-Plan are just a joke - useless when you phone up and give you a stupid quote.

Except of course when they are £200 cheaper than CCI or any of the other specialists. Generalisations rarely work for insurance, it's far too specific smile Been with A-Plan for 2 years, very helpful on the phone - they call back when they promise to. Maybe I've just been lucky?

Basically go through the SELOC Insurance wiki entry and call all of them, yes it's a pain bt it only takes 10 minutes per call and could save you quite a chunk, no one insurer is cheap for everyone, or expensive for everyone for that matter.

Agreed but A plan won't touch me as I haven't had enough rear wheel drive experience..... Will try and go with a specialist this time round as I want to track the Elise next year but I did think this was bizarre

CCI are a big joke. Last year John Priestman quoted us approx £530 for a Sportsracer. My husband age 57, me 59. Members of LoT, both did Lotus Driver Training at Hethel in 2000 and have both done 2 courses of Performance Driver Training with CAT at Millbrook. (We had our first Lotus in 2001, S1 111s) We have full no claims, garaged etc, etc. We emailed John Priestman asking why the quote was so high but he never bothered to reply.

In August this year we contacted 3 insurance companies for quotes by email, one of them being CCI. Filled the form in and guess what, CCI (John Priestman) have not bothered to respond with a quote. The two other companies responded by return.

Insurance is just a lottery. We have renewed with our existing insurers unlimited mileage £400 and the joke is for limited mileage 6K per year was £120 extra!!

Try Henderson Taylor. Matt is the contact. They do my car and the policy includes 4 free trackdays.

Down to a reasonable price thanks for all the suggestions. CCI and Henderson pretty much like for like so would recommend either but Henderson about £20 cheaper so will get my vote when I eventually pick up the car - delayed because of the builders building the damn garage to wrap her in.
