You're all probably blue in the face answering this question but would appreciate your opinions:
Its time for my first "A" service(9,000 miles)and I have been quoted from Sinclaires of London £169 all in to over £400 at the dealer where I bought the car.

Do I get the same kind of service at Sinclaires (I hear they are highly recommended) paying under half the price of the "normal" garages.

I live in Amersham but am prepared to travel if you can recommend a good one for reasonable money.

Thanks in advance...

Yes, *in my experience* you get better service from Sinclaires than a main dealer. Not only do Sinclaires do the work that they're meant do do, but they also take pride over it and alert you to any other problems that might not be observed in a routine service. Oh, and they clean your car.

Sinclaires sound like the way forward. Thanks guys.

Id goto Sinclaires (and do myself) - from Jct 18 it shouldnt be more than 45mins to an hours drive

...much better service

you get the same parts but the labour rate is half the price of a dealer...yet the dealer probably has some 19yr old YTS trainee and Sinclaires have Spanner whos been working on Loti solely for 20yrs !

ok. I've narrowed it down to Brooke-Kensington and Sinclaires. Do I hear any more suggestions...?

Bell and Covills, far from cheap but they made me feel very assured and the quality of service was top notch.

p.s I don't work for them, but I do know a man who does.

p.p.s they are not far from j10 of the M25

Take a trip down to sunny Bournemouth for the day and try Westover Sportscars. Excellent service from a franchised dealer. 'A' service is circa £250.

What dealer is charging £400 for a 'A' service??? That is taking the michael. It is little more than an oil/filter change and a general check around.

I recently had a B service on my S1 111s at Bell and Colvill for £420, a few other "bits" put it up to £520. Given that I keep my Elise in Bournemouth I may try Westover Sports Cars in future!

I know - £375 for an "A" service from the dealer I bought my car from, who also took 6 months to get my service booklets to me ( the car was new), and who was going to charge me £4000, yes thats right FOUR GRAND for some bodywork damage which Peels Motorkraft fixed perfectly for £1250!

They will not be getting anything from me!!

Anyone know of any places in Scotland (West Coast preferably) that does good Lotus servicing.

I know of Murray's but that all.

Unfortunately I bought my car from a Suzuki dealer (I know but I just went in to waste some time and ended up buying this fantastic S2 they had!!) and they know absolutely feck all about the car and the 6 month warranty they gave me is up soon.

Big thanks.
Gib.
