As per the title. Any suggestions on the best place to drill/tap into the sump for a temp sender on my Honda'd Elise?

I would suggest as close to the oil coming out of the engine as possible as it is the temp of the oil coming out of the bearings you are interested in. However you could also argue that the temperature gradient across the oil in the sump will be minimal, just make sure it will be submerged in oil at all times.

if your going to drill/tap it, then use the sloped side front face, flywheel end.
