Hi,

Heater control stopped working - feels like some sort of linkage cable has come loose behind knob (it springs back to middle setting when moved to hot).

Anyone know if removing the knob gives access or is it full dash off stuff?

Had 3 problems in first 2 months ownership of S2 2002 Elise and a bit sick of putting it into the garage, so don't mind having a bash at fixing myself.

Big thanks.
Gib.

Hmmm, dunno about the S2 but with the S1 you access the business end of the heater control through the front services panel, and the switch end probably requires dismantling the dash to get to. Simply taking the heater control switches off the front will not give you any access.

Nah you may well be able to fix it yourself. Remove the OSF access panel. You will see the heater matrix box set down quite low in there. The linkage should be connected into it, but may have come adrift. If its just that then you can probably fix it yourself.

It could have come off under the dash too, but where I've outlines is your first port of call.

Big thanks.

DanH, I'll give your advice a wee shot.

It's still under warranty but I'm a bit sick of having to take it in every 200 bloody miles to get things sorted.

Let's hope this is the last problem for a wee while. Christ it really is a love/hate relationship you have with this type of car....

See ya.
