Morning all.
Just received a quote from Armourfend to protect the whole car. They came back with £1089.80!! HOW MUCH!!

Is it me or does that not sound like an insane amount to effectivly put glorified plastic on certain panels?
Surely its cheaper just to get a respray once a year!?

Has anyone else used protection? (no funny gags please)

I had it fitted from new and it cost about £500 for the dealer to fit. Admittedly I don't know if the dealer did it himself or if Armourfend fit it but it looks very professional and seems to be doing the job of preventing stone chips. (and you get a nice certificate guaranteeing that it will do what it says on the tin - or whatever)

Can't understand the price you've been quoted.

A grand will buy you two front clam resprays so don't bother. What colour is the car??

Mine's silver and the Armourfend is starting to yellow a bit round the air intake (the car is six years old)- I'd get it taken off if I didn't think it would take the paint too.

I cant understand it either. The car is brand new (ruby red) and I thought i'd just enquire - expecting it to be @ the £300 - £400 mark. Do they want customers?!

I was surprised how quickly the front of my car become pebble dashed. Had respray completed & got Armourfend. Kept costs down by concentrating on key areas only.

V.happy since car has only got one or two stonechips since, where the Armourfend does not reach. Would recommend & is popular with other marques like Porsche and TVR judging by dealers used car lists.

Stonechips do look so ugly compared to the Armourfend look. Protect your beauty!!

I've had the front clam done & the side Sills (complete) cost £500....Worth it IMO as is seems to stop stone chips completely. It's the labour that reflects the price, the front clam looks like a nightmare to do properly....

My car was Armourfended by the previous owner.

Obviously stops stonechips in the armourfended areas, and the car was pristine when I bought it (8000 miles with a lady driver who used it for posing, by the look of it), but 4K miles in my hands has left the front clamshem well and truly peppered in the areas not covered.

I'm still going to have to get the clam repainted at some point, therefore.

Conclusion...probably not worth the money armourfending.
