At the last service Sinclaires told me that my flexi section was on it's way out and would need replacing soon.

Can anybody offer suggestions on what my options are for replacing it? Eliseparts used to have a manifold with a flexi bit on but I can't find that any more (thought a manifold upgrade at the same time might be fun). Failing that, where can I get just the flexi bit from, and how much are they?

80 bucks for an MGF flexi here (same part)

Or circa 50% off elise-parts manifold (~£200) this weekend.

Just had a new generic part welded in place on my S2 (38K miles now). No problem. Job done..

My engine is not tuned, so an uprated manifold and such would have been overkill anyway..

Bye, Arno.

Cheers guys.

Arno, when you say you fitted a generic piece, is that a generic Rover/MG part?

The specialist (not a Lotus dealer) that services my car just bought a weld-in flexi part from a regular car-parts supplier.

Just specified the lenght and the diameter and that's all..

Lots of cars use flexi parts like this. Not really a very 'special' item for a shop which sells exhaust parts for all sorts of cars.

Something like 40 Euro's (30 quid?) for the part and about 2 hours labour to cut off the old one and weld in the new one.

Bye, Arno.
